Even though it was released alongside “Oppenheimer,” “Barbie” was nevertheless one of the most talked-about films of last year and did rather well at the box office. The nominees for the 2024 Academy Awards have been announced, and ‘Barbie’ is noticeably absent from the most of the main categories. ‘Oppenheimer’, meantime, has received thirteen votes. The role of Ken was nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” by Ryan Gosling.

But Ryan isn’t overjoyed about the nomination; he’s still bitter at the Academy Awards’ treatment of Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig. In response, he was disappointed and released a statement expressing his feelings. “It is an immense privilege to have been nominated by my peers in the company of such outstanding performers in a year when there were numerous outstanding films,” Ryan expressed. Even though I never imagined I’d say it, I’m both surprised and proud that it’s for playing the role of a plastic doll called Ken. However, the film’s two most important creators, Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, deserve all the credit for making Barbie a household name around the world. Everyone on the project owes a debt of gratitude to the incredible skill, determination, and brilliance of everyone involved.

He added, “To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement.” The actor, however, expressed his immense joy for the nominees. “That being said, my heart overflows with joy for America Ferrera and all the other remarkable artists who gave their all to create this revolutionary film.”

People on the internet praised Ryan’s move and thought it was really classy of him to defend the film’s female leads in such a way. A lot of people thought he was too genuine for this, and they praised him for it.

Houston, Jan 21 (THND) : In the midst of the world’s continuing festivities leading up to the dedication of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, a magnificent billboard depicting Shri Ram has been erected in Houston. Since Monday, hundreds of motorists have been drawn to the billboard every day as they travel on the busiest route.

In the midst of the current frigid temperatures, Houstonians are greeted with a welcome surprise—a 300-foot-tall billboard that displays information about the temple’s inauguration—and a bit of warmth. The billboard initiative was carried out in collaboration with Umang Mehta, a lifelong volunteer in Houston, and Dr. Kusum Vyas, founder of the Green Kumbh Yatra and Save Ram Setu Campaign, of the Living Planet Foundation.

The billboard is located in a prime area of Houston, and it was funded by the Hindus of Greater Houston (HGH), an umbrella organization with the mission of uplifting the community through the dissemination of positive energy and Sanatan Vedic Dharma.

An open invitation to all Houstonians about the event at Gujrat Samaj of Houston (GSH) on January 21 is also served by the HGH-funded billboard.

Dr. Kusum Vyas says that the major goal was to make a billboard that is visually tied to the ethos of Shri Ram and Ayodhya, since they are inseparable.

“By maximizing daylight and enhancing it with an unconventional use of suitable colors, we aim to make the billboard feel welcoming and emanate the true essence and sanctity of Shri Ram and Ayodhya. This will bring warmth and peaceful vibrations to everyone’s experience.” According to Dr. Vas, this would be the first time in history that Prabhu Shri Ramji will grace the sky of a major US city. For a whole month, an estimated 1.5 million visitors will have the opportunity to see Shri Ram and the Ayodhya Mandir.

The Ram Temple at Ayodhya is a testament to the perseverance and selflessness that characterized a 500-year-long fight. Although we are unable to travel to Ayodhya at this time, we would like to welcome the Shri Ram and Ayodhya Temple to Houston so that everyone can experience the significance of this once in a lifetime event. According to Umang Mehta, “we achieved that goal” with this stunning billboard.

Ayodhya will be hosting a consecration ceremony on January 22 with the attendance of the world’s foremost saints and luminaries, and the billboard in Greater Houston hopes to do more than just draw attention to the Hindu population there. According to Vijay Pallod of HGH, “to mark the momentous event, a grand celebration is being organized in Houston on January 21.” The event is open to everyone.

On January 21, the Gujarati Samaj of Houston Event Hall will host the Houston celebration. Join us for the historic “Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya Mandir “Pran Pratishtha” ceremonies, to which everyone is cordially welcomed by HGH.

On Saturday, the festivities will kick off at Vadtal Dham, Shree Swami Narayan Hindu Temple, with the Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav. Other temples will also be participating, with events including a Havan, grand parade, Hanuman chalisa route, cultural programs, Maha Deep Aarti, and fireworks to round off the celebration.

Spectacular lights will be seen at BAPS Mandir. During the Shri Ram Mandir Celebration, Hindus in the Greater Houston area will light diyas. The festivity will be accentuated by Sangita Bhutada’s magnificent Rangoli and the dazzling lights of Diyas.

(THND) New Delhi:

On Saturday, BJP president J P Nadda called the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22 a “historic occasion” and extended an invitation to Indians residing overseas to attend the huge event from any location.

Over seven thousand people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will watch the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony live on the internet.

Mr. Nadda, speaking to Indians from New Delhi, also praised the Modi government’s accomplishments in his virtual address.

He made an impassioned plea to all Indian nationals, calling on them to take part in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections and the “‘NRI for NAMO Again’ campaign,” which the BJP has launched.

The most anticipated event is going to take place on January 22. Following countless hardships spanning decades, our beloved “Bhagwan Ram” will finally return home. “Righteousness and truth have won out,” he declared.

The BJP chief added that this historic event has brought a sense of spiritual contentment and that families are gathering to celebrate it.

Temples all throughout the nation are decked out in lights and decorations, making for a lively, joyous atmosphere. The fulfilment of our dreams and a watershed moment in our spiritual and cultural history have come together in this momentous event, he declared.

“I request all of you to be a part of this momentous celebration from wherever you are in the world,” added Mr. Nadda.

The “magnificent Ram Mandir and take part in the realisation of a cherished dream that echoes through generations” was another invitation from Mr. Nadda to the Indian community.

He praised the Indian population, calling them “torch bearers of our culture and values” who had contributed “invaluable contributions” to the world.

In elevating Bharat’s profile on a global scale, you have been instrumental. Aside from making us proud, the BJP president added, “your accomplishments, commitment to excellence, and resilience abroad have inspired the younger generation back home.”

“Your connect with the roots coupled with global exposure has become a bridge fostering eco-cultural and diplomatic ties between Bharat and the world,” remarked Mr. Nadda.

India, he said, has experienced “a remarkable transformation” under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, highlighting the accomplishments of the Modi government. The country is known for its diverse culture, traditions, and people.

The nation has been catapulted into “a league of developed and prosperous nation” because to him, according to Mr. Nadda.

Modi boasted that India had made “remarkable progress” in a variety of areas during the past decade thanks to the “dynamic leadership” of the prime minister.

The party’s leader stated, “As we look ahead the BJP remains determined in realising the dream of Viksit Bharat” .

“Our vision encompasses a strong self-reliant India that actively contributes to global progress and works collaboratively with the international community,” added Nadda. We will be holding elections for the Lok Sabha in 2024. The ‘NRI for NAMO Again’ campaign has been launched by the party. With all due respect, I beg you to take part in and make a contribution to this greatest celebration of democracy,” he proclaimed.

According to Mr. Nadda, the “strong bond which connects with us with our roots and heritage” and the “presence and engagement” of Indian community members at the “Ahlan Modi” event in the UAE on January 13 will only strengthen the event’s significance.

According to Prime Minister Modi, his dream is to build a country where everyone, regardless of their origin, may participate in its prosperity.

The “paradigm shift” from women’s development to women-led development has occurred in India in the past ten years, according to Nadda. “Nari Shakti” has become the most important condition for economic progress, according to the prime minister, and women have shown unwavering support for his development approach.

In addition, he brought attention to the BJP government’s measures to guarantee 26 weeks of paid maternity leave and to ban quick triple talaq.

As India strives to become a significant global economic power, the prime minister emphasized the essential importance of women’s participation in the nation’s growth story.

According to him, India is now a “formidable leader” in technological and scientific domains.

Pizza Hut boycott trending because it gave pizza to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) - The Hard News Daily

A widely shared online image of two IDF soldiers holding piles of branded Pizza Hut boxes was reposted on the Israeli Instagram account of the restaurant chain.

The two soldiers, initially uploaded by a user with the alias @alex_shults, are depicted in uniform and smiling.

Prominent brands have encountered global boycotts due to perceived endorsement of Israel’s retaliatory actions in the Gaza Strip subsequent to the October 7 assaults carried out by Hamas. Prominent examples include McDonald’s and Starbucks, which have both faced criticism from pro-Palestinian advocates.

A Palestinian youth news agency, the Quds News Network, uploaded an additional image to a distinct Instagram story on X (previously Twitter), which depicted an Israeli soldier engaging in a photoshoot with a stack of pizza cartons.

An image of him with one arm resting on the crates and the other on a rifle was published by an account bearing the caption “Proud to assist.” The image contains the inscription “For the love of Israel.” According to the Quds Network, the pizzas were delivered to Israeli military bases for gratis.

At this time, we are unable to verify the claim.

Online, pro-Palestinian supporters have reacted angrily to the postings by threatening to discontinue their purchases from the chain and have even urged others to do the same.

As of the time of writing, the X site had received over 157,000 posts with the hashtag #BoycottPizzaHut.

Nevertheless, there were those who opposed the hashtag. Advocacy for Israel retaliated against the suggested boycott. The Quds Network post was cited by Eli Lake, who wrote, “Better for Pizza Hut.”

Who is the true inventor of Dal Makhani and Butter Chicken? HC of Delhi to determine - The Hard News Daily

January 20th, New Delhi (THND) A mouthwatering legal dispute is about to unfold in the Delhi High Court about who exactly created the popular Indian dishes Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani. As the “Inventors of Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani” slogan comes under scrutiny in court, tensions rise between the Moti Mahal and Daryaganj eateries.

Moti Mahal claims that Daryaganj is deceiving customers by implying a link between the two eateries.

At issue is Moti Mahal’s contention that their restaurant’s original location was in the Daryaganj area. Daryaganj, they say, is using this geographical association to make up a fake gastronomic connection.

Justice Sanjeev Narula presided over the case and ordered the Daryaganj landowners to respond to the lawsuit in writing no later than one month after the case began. On top of that, he set a hearing for May 29th after receiving notice of Moti Mahal’s request for an interim injunction.

Each eatery insists that they were the first to serve Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani, but this is where the disagreement begins. These famous dishes have become worldwide symbols of Indian cuisine, and Moti Mahal attributes their creation to its creator, the late Kundan Lal Gujral.

After the Partition, Gujral brought three of his creations to India, including Butter Chicken, Dal Makhani, and Tandoori Chicken, according to Moti Mahal.

Moti Mahal’s lawsuit lays bare a culinary backstory in which Gujral, worried about the spoilage of unsold chicken, came up with the brilliant idea of the “makhani,” also known as butter sauce. The delicious Butter Chicken was built upon this sauce, which was a mixture of tomatoes, butter, cream, and spices.

Since the same recipe was used with black lentils to make the popular Dal Makhani, Moti Mahal goes on to say that the two dishes are closely related to each other.

Although Daryaganj has not yet responded formally, its senior lawyer Amit Sibal strongly denied Moti Mahal’s claims and characterized the whole case as “baseless.”

“He (Sibal) strongly disagrees with Mr. Sethi’s claims, describing the whole lawsuit as flawed, without merit, and without a basis for action. The court ruling stated that Mr. Sibal and Mr. Anand also argued that the defendants, who are the owners of Dariyaganj, have not made any fraudulent claims or representations, and that the charges made in the suit are completely unfounded.

They went on to say that the forefathers of both groups—Gujral of Moti Mahal and Jaggi of Daryaganj—had worked together to open Peshawar’s first Moti Mahal restaurant.

Regarding the photo of Peshawar’s Moti Mahal restaurant, Sibal explained that the establishment was started by the forefathers of both sides, which rules out any claim to exclusive ownership of the image by the plaintiffs.

According to Mr. Sibal, the defendants have the same right to utilize this photo as anyone else. The court observed that he highlighted how the defendants’ website imagery was altered to remove the term “MOTI MAHAL,” which rendered the plaintiffs’ complaint baseless.

The owners of the Daryaganj restaurant were represented by senior counsel Sibal and lawyers Pravin Anand and Dhruv Anand, among others, while Moti Mahal was represented by senior advocate Sethi and Chander M. Lall, among others.

Exploring “Khula” in Islamic Marriage

Exploring "Khula" in Islamic Marriage - The Hard News Daily

Context of “Khula”

Islamic marital law is deeply rooted in the veneration of marriage and the concept of ‘Khula’ stands out as a crucial component, particularly for women. Based on Islamic beliefs and historical precedents, it stands for a woman’s right to obtain a divorce.

Understanding Khula

Exploring "Khula" in Islamic Marriage - The Hard News Daily

According to Islamic law, a woman can file for a divorce through the khula process. One historical incident from Islam that exemplifies this idea is when Jamila went to the Prophet Muhammad to tell him that she couldn’t feel anything for her husband, Thabit ibn Qays. To help Khula get off to a good start, the Prophet acknowledged her predicament and arranged for their separation.

“The Khula Process”

Let us pretend for a moment that Aisha and Ahmed are not real. After seeing that Ahmed is ignoring her in her marriage, Aisha makes the decision to seek out Khula. She goes to an Islamic court, explains why she’s willing to return the dowry, and gets the go light. The court allows the Khula, dissolving the marriage, after reviewing her case and assuring mutual agreement.

Conditions and Considerations

As is evident in various Islamic communities, the conditions under Khula might vary. As an example, whereas the judge’s ruling may be sufficient in Maliki or Shafi’i interpretations, the husband’s consent may be required in a Hanafi society. The varied experiences of women seeking Khula throughout the Islamic world are a reflection of this diversity.

Legal and Social Dynamics

The difficulties encountered by Khula are exemplified by the tale of Fatima in a conservative culture. Despite enduring emotional abuse, Fatima faces social stigma and familial pressure on her path to get Khula, illustrating the intricate relationship between religious rights and society standards.

Modern Perspectives

The use of Khula in modern contexts frequently clashes with contemporary legal frameworks. Some countries, like Egypt, have tried to simplify the Khula process such that it conforms to Islamic values while also meeting international human rights norms.

Hence, These instances demonstrate that Islam recognizes the complexities of marriage relationships through khula. Not only does it support a woman’s right to leave an unsatisfactory marriage with dignity, but it also shows how its application is changing to fit society.

Story of Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza's Extramarital Affairs and the Disintegration of Their Families - The Hard News Daily

In a Saturday announcement, former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik confirmed his split from retired Indian tennis star Sania Mirza by saying he was married to Pakistani actress Sana Javed. Despite Shoaib’s enthusiastic Instagram posts commemorating the wedding, a story in The Pakistani Daily has caused some to wonder.
It was said in the article that not a single member of Shoaib’s family was present for the wedding. The tennis star’s alleged extramarital affairs were a major factor in his decision to divorce Sania Mirza, according to Malik’s sisters, who were worried about their brother’s mental health.
This marriage is Shoaib’s third. In order to wed Sania Mirza, he filed for a dissolution of his marriage to Ayesha Siddiqui. Former Dubai residents Shoaib and Sania tied the knot in April 2010 in Hyderabad. In 2018, their son Izaan was welcomed into the world. Living with Sania is their son, who is five years old.

Shoaib Malik’s marriage to Sana Javed comes as confirmation ‘khula’ from Sania Mirza’s father.

A close relative of Shoaib’s says that Sania started the divorce process shortly after he announced his marriage to her. A ‘khula’ was what it was. As far as the source is concerned, they do not want to comment further. A Muslim woman has the right to divorce her husband for whatever reason she sees fit, a practice known as khula.

A previous cryptic message by Sania, which said, “Marriage is hard, Divorce is hard,” hinted to a possible split from Shoaib. Make a tough decision. The fight against obesity is not easy. Choosing to be fit is challenging. Having debt is difficult. Keeping one’s spending under control is not easy. Make a tough decision. Communicating is challenging. Talking to someone is rarely easy. Difficult times are inevitable. I am and always will be fierce. Nevertheless, we have the freedom to select our own challenges. Choose carefully.

Besides acting in Pakistani films, Sana Javed—Shoaib’s third wife—has starred in several popular drama serials. In 2020, during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, she tied the knot with musician Umair Jaiswal in a small ceremony. But rumors of their split surfaced two months before that.

Guwahati:

In the presence of numerous dignitaries and spectators at Guwahati’s Saru Sajai Sports Complex, including Home Minister Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, a squad of young commandos donned black combat fatigues and equipped with cutting-edge close-range, sniper, and automatic weaponry rappelled down a rope from an Army Aviation Corps hovering Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) to demonstrate a tactical exercise.

The new recruits of Assam’s Black Panthers commando battalions are reminiscent of the National Security Guards (NSG) in their strategy to deal with hostage situations, although they are actually the state’s own police force.

Assam Police inducted 2,551 new police commandos, marking a watershed milestone in the force’s history.

It was the first time the Indian Army had ever trained such a huge number of any police force in the nation as part of their commando course, according to the Assam Police.

It is the first time the army has trained such a big number of young recruits (2,551 sub-inspectors and constables). Assam Special DGP Harmeet Singh informed reporters that the recruits received basic military training before transferring to the Dergaon-based Lachit Borphukan Police Academy for their police training.

The unprecedented partnership with the army and the large number of skilled troops are two reasons why the historic procession has garnered so much attention.

Their graduation from an open and honest hiring process is the most crucial detail. The fact that the Home Minister was present at the passing out procession and saluted them was the most significant event. According to Mr. Singh, the presence of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is a great honor for the Assam Police and the state of Asam as a whole.
