The idol of Ram Lalla was placed in the Ayodhya temple’s sanctum sanctorum, fulfilling years of devotees’ hopes. The idol arrived Wednesday night with a special pooja, and installation is scheduled for Thursday, according to Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chair Nripendra Mishra.
The idol was transported to the temple by a designated truck and ritualized before being placed inside by a crane. The consecration ceremony began on January 16 and will culminate on January 22 with the much-anticipated inauguration. The major celebration will be preceded by a series of temple ceremonies over the next three days.
Trust officials say most rites will be completed by January 21, with only the Ram Lalla idol’s ‘Pran Pratishtha’ slated for the main day. These spiritual ceremonies will be overseen by 121 ‘acharyas.’ The event will start at 12:20 pm on January 22 and end at 1 pm.
This historic milestone fulfills devotees’ spiritual desires and advances the Ayodhya temple’s completion and opening.
