AAP MP Sanjay Singh filed his nomination for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections after Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court allowed him to sign his re-nomination papers at Rajya Sabha in person amid tight security arrangements.

Sanjay Singh and ND Gupta were both re-elected to second terms as members of the Upper House by the AAP’s Political Affairs Committee last Friday. Elections to the Rayjya Sabha are scheduled for January 19.
A Delhi court gave Singh the green light to re-nominate himself to the Rajya Sabha; his present term is up on January 27.
Just before his present term is up, the AAP party nominated the leader to take the helm.
The petitioner, Sanjay Singh, is seeking a “No Dues Certificate” from the Rajya Sabha and has petitioned the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi for authorization to have Singh’s signatures taken on a “Undertaking” supposedly necessary for this purpose. Singh applied for bail in a money laundering case involving the Delhi excise policy on Thursday at the Delhi High Court.
In a case involving the Delhi excise policy, the Enforcement Directorate detained Sanjay Singh on October 4th, 2017. “The Court is of prima facie view that the case against him is genuine,” the trial court ruled when it denied him bail on December 22, last year. He is implicated in the suspected crime of money laundering, according to the evidence.
