In a very rare turn of events, the national Security Advisor of India Ajit Doval meets the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

It is to be noted here that Putin does not usually meets the foreign ministers of the countries but only meets the head of states.

In the viral video, shared by a user called Sputnik India, Ajit Doval said –

“As Prime Minister told you on the telephone talk, that he was keen to brief you about his visit to Ukraine and his meeting with President Zelensky and he wanted me to come specially and personally and brief you about the talks. The talk was in a very closed format. It was only between two leaders. He had his two personals with him. I happen to be with the Prime Minister.”

The meeting held at a time when there is an ongoing BRICS meeting in St. Petersburg in Russia.

During this time, Sergei Shoigu who is the Russia’s head of Security Council was also present.

Last Thursday Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he is waiting for the Indian Prime Minister Modi to attend the BRICS summit to be held at Kazan later this year and proposed holding a bilateral summit with the Prime Minister.

The Russian President expressed his desire to Doval about his desire to meet Prime Minister Modi soon.
Doval is on an official visit to St. Petersburg in order to participate in the BRICS meeting which is held from September 10 to September 12.

The external affairs ministry spokesperson Randir Jaisawal has confirmed the same during a press conference.
