Even though it was released alongside “Oppenheimer,” “Barbie” was nevertheless one of the most talked-about films of last year and did rather well at the box office. The nominees for the 2024 Academy Awards have been announced, and ‘Barbie’ is noticeably absent from the most of the main categories. ‘Oppenheimer’, meantime, has received thirteen votes. The role of Ken was nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” by Ryan Gosling.

But Ryan isn’t overjoyed about the nomination; he’s still bitter at the Academy Awards’ treatment of Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig. In response, he was disappointed and released a statement expressing his feelings. “It is an immense privilege to have been nominated by my peers in the company of such outstanding performers in a year when there were numerous outstanding films,” Ryan expressed. Even though I never imagined I’d say it, I’m both surprised and proud that it’s for playing the role of a plastic doll called Ken. However, the film’s two most important creators, Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, deserve all the credit for making Barbie a household name around the world. Everyone on the project owes a debt of gratitude to the incredible skill, determination, and brilliance of everyone involved.

He added, “To say that I’m disappointed that they are not nominated in their respective categories would be an understatement.” The actor, however, expressed his immense joy for the nominees. “That being said, my heart overflows with joy for America Ferrera and all the other remarkable artists who gave their all to create this revolutionary film.”

People on the internet praised Ryan’s move and thought it was really classy of him to defend the film’s female leads in such a way. A lot of people thought he was too genuine for this, and they praised him for it.
