Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ joins Margot Robbie’s ‘Barbie’ and Cillian Murphy’s ‘Oppenheimer’ as 2023’s most searched movies

Despite everyone’s fixation on “Barbenheimer,” Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jawan” became one of the most talked-about films of 2023 and firmly cemented his place in cinematic history.
The Atlee-helmed action film starring SRK came in at number three worldwide, trailing only films like “Barbie” starring Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig and “Oppenheimer” starring Cillian Murphy and Christopher Nolan.The June release of “Jawan” had a major effect at the box office. Not only did it earn 643 crore nett in India across all languages, but it also became the highest-grossing Hindi film ever. Just the Hindi version brought in an astounding 580 crore.

‘Sound of Freedom,’ ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water,’ and ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ were among the other notable films included in the list.

Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’ was another Indian film that made it into the top ten, coming in at number eight. The film’s unexpected success at the Indian box office earned it more than 500 million rupees.
Following closely on the heels of “Gadar 2” was “Creed III,” and finally, “Pathaan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, rounded out the list. An astounding 49.25 million USD came from outside markets, contributing to the record-breaking 1055 Cr. worldwide and an incredible Rs 524 Cr. nett in India for the spy thriller.

In 2023, the Bollywood Badshah made a spectacular return to the silver screen with three consecutive blockbuster movies, marking his four-year absence.

This year, Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki” will be nominated for an Oscar.
