Sidharth Malhotra Pays Tribute to Delhi Police: Recognizing Real Heroes

While in Delhi promoting his new series “Indian Police Force,” Bollywood star Sidharth Malhotra made a touching personal appearance. As part of his tour, he stopped by the National Police Memorial to meet with members of the Delhi Police and their families, expressing his respect and appreciation for their work.

While thinking back on his personal history with the city, Sidharth said, “Main hamare Dilli Police se school aur college mein milta tha” (I used to face Delhi Police throughout my school and college days). On the other hand, he was honest about how unaware he was while in college. Realizing the importance and difficulties of the police force came to him only as he matured and became more self-aware.

“As a citizen, we always want your officers and government to provide you better service,” said he. According to Sidharth Malhotra, who has a changing view of the police force, serving as a police officer is one of the most difficult professions in India. He praised the cops for their consistent outreach to people of all ages and from all walks of life.

Sidharth praised the Delhi Police, saying, “I think you are brilliant,” in reference to the officers’ ability to remain calm and collected while interacting with members of the public. He recognized the difficult nature of their work and conveyed his profound admiration for the selfless service they offer.

The actor, who will be playing a police officer in an upcoming series, considered it a privilege to don the uniform in front of an audience. He reiterated filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s words when he said, “We are the reel heroes; you (police officers) are the real heroes.” This highlighted the difference between imaginary and real heroes.

A striking reminder of the often-overlooked problems encountered by law enforcement officers was provided by Sidharth Malhotra’s visit and deeply moving remarks. Heroes like the Delhi Police, who have shown themselves time and again to be dedicated public servants, should have the credit and acclaim that the entertainment industry keeps doling out to police personnel.
