Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, is currently in a stable condition following a critical two-hour surgical procedure on Friday at a hospital in Banska Bystrica. The surgery, intended to excise necrotic tissue from his injuries, follows a startling assassination attempt earlier this week that has caused significant repercussions throughout Europe.
Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kalinak, addressing journalists outside the hospital, had a cautiously positive perspective. “We will need a few more days to determine with certainty the direction it is heading,” he clarified, acknowledging the crucial state of Fico’s condition but also expressing optimism based on the observed indications of improvement after the surgery.
