Daily collections for the legendary superhero flick HanuMan, which is set in Telugu, have surpassed those of Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram. Despite having a smaller budget, no major stars, and a novice director, HanuMan has skyrocketed on the strength of positive word-of-mouth, opening to approximately a sixth of what Guntur Kaaram grossed on its first day of release.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, HanuMan earned Rs 12.75 crore on its fifth day of release. Weekend earnings were higher than the film’s opening weekend total of Rs 8 crore. The fourth day, Monday, saw earnings of Rs 15 crore, down slightly from Rs 16 crore on Sunday (a fall of 5%). HanuMan is currently sitting at Rs 68 crore in domestic profits, giving it a good chance of crossing the Rs 100 crore mark by either Friday or Saturday.

On the fifth day of its Telugu run, Prashanth Varma’s HanuMan, which stars Teja Sajja, had 68% occupancy. The evening and nighttime performances were the busiest, with 70% occupancy rates. The Hindi version of the film only managed 12% occupancy on day five, indicating that it has not yet successfully crossed over, in contrast to the above 90% occupancy in Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Meanwhile, Guntur Kaaram allegedly made 11 crore rupees on day five in India, bringing its total domestic earnings to 94 crore rupees.

According to trade expert Manobala Vijayabalan, HanuMan has crossed the Rs 100 crore barrier on a global scale. Including Tuesday’s domestic receipts, the film has earned a minimum of Rs 112 crore. According to a Variety article, HanuMan’s domestic distributor is reportedly considering increasing the film’s screen count after the film earned $2.3 million (Rs 19 crore) in its first weekend at the US box office with only 430 screens. Rumor has it that 2025 will see the release of Jai Hanuman, the sequel.
