Kolkata (West Bengal):

The murder of a teenage boy in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district was allegedly caused by an altercation between four of his pals over sharing the password of an online mobile game, according to a senior police officer.

On Monday, authorities in Farakka announced the discovery of the body of 18-year-old Papai Das, who had been reported missing since January 8. The body was found near Nishindra Ghat of the feeder canal.

A dispute over sharing the password for a mobile internet game allegedly led to the murder of Papai, a student in class 10, by four of his “close” friends. The police have said that the individuals who were accused have been arrested.

At one of the Farakka Barrage quarters, these five people liked to play video games online. The victim disappeared after leaving their residence on January 8th. The family went to the police on January 9th.

“Based on preliminary investigations, we discovered that the victim had refused to share his password to play the online mobile game with his friends, which resulted in a fight and ultimately led to his murder,” said the officer.

According to the authorities, after he was killed, the four “friends” tried to set him on fire using gasoline from their motorcycles.

They ran for their houses after disposing of the half charred corpse in the Nishindra ghat of the Farakka feeder. The placement of their mobile phone towers allowed us to determine their involvement,” he continued.

The victim’s mother recognized him because to his tattoos.

The kid failed his pre-board exam this year due to his severe addiction to this internet game, according to the police officer.
