Roy Keane disagreed and reminded everyone of the outcome after Jamie Redknapp and Gary Neville lavished Tottenham Hotspur with praise for their performance against Manchester United on Sunday, January 14.
With Sunday’s 2-2 draw, Tottenham Hotspur added to Manchester United’s mounting Premier League 2023–24 woes.
Both Rednkapp and Gary Neville, a former United fullback, spoke highly of the North London club’s progress under Postecoglou’s leadership after the game. But Keane disagreed with them and accused the two commentators of having “no desire to win” for their praise of Tottenham.
The manager should be commended, without a doubt. They had high hopes, so a draw was disappointing. They need to give it their all to finish in the top four and take home the title. Their conviction in their ability to win the game was lacking, though. Roy Keane mentioned Tottenham’s performance on Sunday and how they managed to settle for a draw.
Based on their performance in Sunday’s match, Keane said that giving Tottenham too much credit for a 2-2 was unfair. The match between Tottenham and United at Old Trafford ended in a tie, although Keane conceded that Tottenham played better than United.
Despite being the superior team, the result was a tie. Everyone got compliments—the personnel, the bus driver, and everyone else. It ended in a draw, so everyone can relax,” Roy Keane said.
In terms of significant injuries sustained by their respective teams, Roy Keane drew parallels between the two and said that such challenges are par for the course for large teams.
They, like Manchester United, were without key players. Dealing with these things is a part of being a big team. The addition was made by Keane.
Following Keane’s criticism, Redknapp rebutted by saying that United manager Erik ten Hag has been more important to his club than Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou. In contrast, Keane insisted that United’s internal issues run deeper than Tottenham’s, thereby dismissing any comparison between the two clubs.
Obviously, United has more serious issues than Spurs. Keane stated on Sky Sports that United’s offerings are completely unknown.
Gary Neville and Harry Redknapp pushed Tottenham to finish in the Premier League’s top three towards the end of the broadcast, but Keane made fun of them with a cheeky “Dream big lads!”
