SL vs ZIM, 2nd T20I: Highlights

Zimbabwe suffered an early blow when Tinashe Kamunhukamwe was bowled out while attempting to achieve a win target of 174 on a very favorable batting surface. On the other hand, the chase was set up solidly by the 74 runs scored by Craig Ervine and Brian Bennett, who batted together for the second wicket.

Bennett left after scoring 25, but Ervine kept going strong, finishing with 70. Luke Jongwe (25* off 12) and Clive Madande (15* off 5) had quick, impacting cameos in the last stages of the game, and they brilliantly sealed the win. With one game left in the series, Zimbabwe drew level with a four-wicket victory.

The Sri Lankan bowlers maintained pressure by taking wickets at a steady rate and limiting the run rate, however they were only effective in parts. With two wickets apiece, Maheesh Theekshana and Dushmantha Chameera stood out, while Dilshan Madushanka and Wanindu Hasaranga each took one.

In the last over, Zimbabwe needed 20 runs, but Angelo Mathews couldn’t protect the total. Sri Lanka will be looking to make up for lost ground in the upcoming encounter by capitalizing on numerous opportunities.

Batting first earlier today, Sri Lanka achieved a respectable 173 runs after being reduced to 27 for 4 thanks to 69 runs by Charith Asalanka and 66* by Angelo Mathews.

They dug themselves out of an early hole and put up 118 runs for the fifth wicket, a remarkable comeback. The Sri Lankans finished their innings on a high note. Good fortune For Zimbabwe, Muzarabani and Luke Jongwe each took two, but they were a bit pricey. The unexpected has happened: Zimbabwe has advanced to the series finale.
