Unveiled Secrets: The Real Reason Behind Aamir Khan and Salman Khan's Clash on the Set of Andaz Apna Apna - The Hard News Daily

Recently, Shehzad Khan, who portrayed Bhalla in the 1994 classic Andaz Apna Apna, revealed the tensions that existed between Aamir Khan and Salman Khan while they were filming the film. Khan, who co-starred with Biju Khote as Robert, claimed that the two actors’ divergent orientations to their work frequently caused friction.

Khan revealed, in conversation with Siddharth Kannan, that he had observed Aamir and Salman engaged in numerous disagreements.

He acknowledged assuming the role of mediator between them on account of their longstanding and intimate friendship with Salman.
An essential source of disagreement between the parties involved was their divergent work schedules. Despite the call time being 9 am, Aamir, renowned for his punctuality, would arrive at the Mud Island bungalow between 7 and 7:30 am. Conversely, Salman, a resident of Bandra, would invariably appear considerably later, between 10 and 11 am, as a result of diverse obstacles such as mechanical difficulties and additional setbacks.
Salman was defended by Khan, who emphasized the challenges associated with the commute from Bandra to the set. He elaborated that notwithstanding the variations in their methodologies, both actors delivered outstanding performances, irrespective of the quantity of takes necessary to attain perfection.

Khan clarified that despite the simmering tensions between Aamir and Salman, they never confronted one another overtly on set. Nevertheless, any deliberations or dissents might have taken place in an off-site location.

Notwithstanding the intermittent disagreements, Khan nostalgically recalled the congenial and familial ambiance that pervaded the Andaz Apna Apna set. The producer fostered a positive work environment through the provision of home-cooked meals and a nurturing atmosphere, which constituted hospitality.
Despite initial underperformance at the box office attributed to insufficient promotional efforts, Andaz Apna Apna ultimately attained cult status among viewers.
The insights provided by Shehzad Khan shed light on the interpersonal dynamics between Salman and Aamir Aamir during the production of Andaz Apna Apna, displaying the difficulties and companionship that were present on the set.

New court documents state that a man strangled a woman before allegedly beating her to death in a hotel room in Washington, D.C., with the ceramic lid from a toilet.

The Metropolitan Police Department stated that it responded at approximately 11:20 a.m. Friday to report of an unconscious person located in the 1600 block of New York Avenue NE. Inside the hotel room, they found the adult female with apparent trauma to the body who had succumbed to her injuries, the news release says. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

The Metropolitan Police Department announced that 59-year-old William Barrett was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in Maddox’s homicide after an employee at the Ivy City Hotel found her body on Friday.

Detectives determined that on Thursday, around 7:20 p.m., Barrett and Maddox checked into the hotel in question. In the statement, Barrett said he had been involved in a romantic relationship with Maddox for over a year.

They go into room 123 of the hotel, and the two are not seen again on surveillance film until 10:20 pm that night when cops say Maddox can be seen walking out of the room naked. For a couple of minutes, it appeared she was unable to get back into the room. She then re-entered and wasn’t seen again until just after 1 in the morning.

Cops say Maddox left the room, wearing only underwear, at 1:15 a.m. A short while later, Barrett walked out of the hotel room completely naked to look for her. Five minutes after that, they go back to the room. Within an hour, cops say they recorded what sounded like a woman screaming “help” and “get off me.”

Nobody is seen or heard leaving or coming into the room after that until Barrett left just after 9 a.m.

A statement said the hotel worker entered the room at about 11 a.m. and was caught on camera hurriedly closing the door and running down the hallway.

After studying the security video and gathering evidence from the room, including the toilet tank cover that had been shattered into three pieces, the police made the decision to arrest Barrett. During the time of his arrest, Barrett was found to have blood on his head and face, as well as on his cell phone, two pairs of gloves, his boxers, and his belt, according to the detectives.

Barrett is said to have reported to the authorities that he and Maddox had a heated debate that escalated into a violent altercation after they had checked into the hotel. According to him, Maddox started punching him and “was running her mouth,” which prompted him to choke her with his belt until she passed out without the ability to breathe.

According to the allegations, he stated that he believed he had murdered Maddox by choking her, but she suddenly abruptly regained up and started screaming for assistance. After that, Barrett punched her, grabbed the lid of the toilet tank, and slammed her with it many times, which ultimately resulted in the lid breaking into pieces.

According to the records filed in the court, Maddox sustained three different types of injuries: blunt force trauma to her forehead, abnormalities to her head, and many lacerations. After the assault, Barrett stated that he fell asleep, and when he awoke, Maddox was not moving, and her body was cold since she had been sleeping.

Google Will Relaunch Gemini AI Image Tool After Narendra Modi Inaccuracies - The Hard News Daily

Demis Hassabis, Google’s Chief Executive, recently announced that the company’s artificial-intelligence picture generator would be rebooted in the upcoming weeks. This follows the temporary suspension of the tools after it was revealed that Google’s Gemini AI models were making errors in their historical representations.

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Hassabis mentioned, “We have taken the feature offline while we fix that. We expect to have that back live very soon, hopefully in the next few weeks.” He acknowledged the tool was malfunctioning, which led to its suspension.

Earlier this month, complaints, particularly regarding its “historical images,” emerged on social media as Gemini AI introduced a new “photo-making” feature. This resulted in a 3.5% drop in Alphabet shares during Monday afternoon trading, impacting the S&P 500.

Since the debut of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in November 2022, Google has been pursuing more advanced AI technology. The company aims to compete with Microsoft-supported projects through its proprietary software. However, Google’s stock prices have suffered due to previous issues, such as those found with the Bard AI robot.

The AI chatbot has been renamed Gemini, offering paid subscriptions that promise enhanced cognitive abilities. Bob O’Donnell, TECHnalysis Research’s chief expert, highlighted the importance of fixing AI development errors to maintain user trust.

Additionally, Google faced criticism over the Gemini AI platform’s responses about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The company responded quickly to the IT Ministry’s concerns over “problematic and illegal” answers, clarifying that Gemini primarily serves as a tool for creativity and productivity and is not designed to address current events or politics.

Google’s spokesperson stated, “We quickly work to address this issue. ‘Gemini is meant to help you be creative and get things done but might not always work as intended, especially in responding to prompts about current events, politics, or changing news”.

Eric Hovde, a Republican running for U.S. Senate, is airing his first TV ad of the campaign. It is part of a seven-figure statewide buy that his campaign said Monday will include several spots over the next month.

Hovde is a businessman who is worth a lot of money and is running against Democratic U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin. Even though she officially announced her run for a third term almost a year ago in April 2023, she hasn’t put out an ad yet. The first ad Hovde is running on Tuesday is the same one he posted on his website last week when he started his campaign.

He says that the economy, crime, health care, and “open borders” are all problems that the country has in the ad. In the spot, he doesn’t talk about Baldwin or Wisconsin.

It says in the ad, “Everything is going in the wrong direction.” “All Washington does is divide us and talk about who’s to blame and nothing gets done.”

Andrew Mamo, who works for Baldwin’s campaign, didn’t have anything to say.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has backed Hovde, but other Republicans are thinking about running against him for the election. Two other people who are thinking about running for the Senate are Franklin businessman Scott Mayer and former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke.

There are also two less well-known Republicans running: Stacey Klein, who is the supervisor of Trempealeau County, and Rejani Raveendran, who is a 40-year-old college student and the chair of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point College Republicans.

Baldwin was re-elected in 2018 by 11 percentage points, and Democrats need her to win again this year if they want to keep the majority in the Senate. In November, Democrats are running for 23 Senate seats. Two of those seats are filled by independents who join the Democratic caucus. Republicans only want to keep 11 seats, while Democrats want to keep all of them.

Report: Apple is looking into smart glasses and AirPods with cameras, advanced sensors, and AI. - The Hard News Daily

In spite of the wide variety of sizes and styles offered by wearable fitness trackers—from large smartwatches to thin fitness bands—the ring design appears to be on the verge of becoming ubiquitous.

At MWC 2024, Samsung unveiled their new Galaxy Ring, which is rumored to include several health tracking capabilities. Also in August of last year, Apple patented a smart ring that could be activated by pressure and provided haptic feedback.

New information from Bloomberg, however, indicates that Apple has not yet begun active development on the smartphone. To take on Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses and improve upon Apple’s AirPods with cameras and sophisticated sensors, the tech giant may soon release a new line of smart glasses.

Report: Apple is looking into smart glasses and AirPods with cameras, advanced sensors, and AI. - The Hard News Daily

It is peculated that Apple plans to increase the number of its wearable devices beyond the present Apple Watch, AirPods, and the recently released Vision Pro headset. New AirPods with cameras and smart features are in the works, as are smart glasses and a smart ring.

It is claimed that the Cupertino, California-based tech giant isn’t currently working on a smart ring, but that Apple has considered creating one with Apple Watch-like health tracking capabilities.

But the ring would be cheaper than an Apple Watch, work with Apple’s health and fitness apps, and fit in with the Apple ecosystem, giving them more of an incentive to stay with Apple and not go to Android.

Reportedly, the business has also discussed creating smart spectacles similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which were introduced last year. Gurman claims that medical sensors, speakers, and cameras might all be part of the smart eyewear. Featuring audio capabilities, larger batteries, an abundance of sensors, and AI capabilities, the glasses have the potential to supplant AirPods. Additionally, the price of Apple’s smart glasses would be less than that of the $3,499 Apple Vision Pro.

Another popular product that Apple is allegedly considering adding cameras and smart features to is the AirPods. According to latest reports, last year Apple began exploring the idea of incorporating high-tech artificial intelligence (AI), health sensors, and cameras into its headphones. People could benefit from the data collected by the cameras as they go about their everyday lives.

These wearable devices may never see the light of day, even if Apple is looking into developing them. Reportedly in development at the moment are a larger-than-an-iPhone foldable device and a HomePod refresh with a touchscreen.

However, Samsung’s Galaxy Ring is expected to make its debut in the latter half of 2024. This week at MWC 2024, the smart ring was revealed after first being announced at the Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17. As with the Galaxy Watch, the ring will presumably have health tracking features, including as a blood oxygen sensor, a sleep monitor, and a 24×7 heart rate monitor, in addition to other fitness tracking capabilities.

PM Modi's Underwater Odyssey to Dwarka: A Journey Through India's Spiritual and Historical Depths - The Hard News Daily

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently embarked on an unusual and breathtaking underwater voyage to the drowned city of Dwarka, off the coast of Gujarat. This incredible journey was more than simply a dive into the Arabian Sea; it was a profound investigation of India’s spiritual and historical core. Dwarka, an ancient city, is extremely important in Hindu mythology, particularly in relation to Lord Krishna, a main god worshipped throughout the country.

A Dive into the Past

Dwarka, once thought to be a city of majesty and riches, now lies beneath the waves, cloaked in mystery and enchantment. For centuries, it has attracted historians, archaeologists, and spiritual seekers with its mythical stories and cultural heritage. PM Modi’s visit to this ancient location was symbolic, connecting the present to the heavenly past while also honoring India’s spiritual and cultural legacy.

The Spiritual Connection

Underwater, amidst the ruins of what was once a vibrant city, PM Modi paid tribute with peacock feathers, a gesture that is strongly rooted in the symbolic iconography linked with Lord Krishna. This gesture of devotion highlights a unique and personal link to the country’s spiritual roots, evoking a sense of continuity with the past that is still vital to India’s communal psyche.

Beyond the Surface

PM Modi’s underwater trek goes beyond paying homage; it is a powerful reminder of the layers of history and spirituality that form the foundation of Indian civilization. Dwarka is a tribute to India’s rich history, a city that, despite its physical submersion, nevertheless holds a place of veneration in the hearts and minds of many.

A Message for the Future

PM Modi’s visit to Dwarka is significant both in terms of cultural preservation and awareness. It emphasizes the necessity of preserving and learning from our heritage in order to shape a future that respects and honors our past. This voyage, documented and shared with the globe, acts as an inspiration, motivating us to delve into and respect our history and spirituality.

In the End

PM Modi’s underwater visit to Dwarka is a moving tribute to India’s deep spiritual and historical heritage. It represents a connection between the past and the present, reminding us of our ancestors’ eternal legacy. As we move on, let us carry with us the lessons and inspirations gained from such deep connections to our heritage, ensuring that the past serves as a beacon for our future.

Biden’s chances for reelection are greater than they appear.

Americans have been unimpressed with President Joe Biden’s management of the economy. In fact, according to polling averages, roughly 60% oppose it. Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s scores on economic issues are significantly higher. The disparity in attitudes bodes ill for Mr Biden’s chances of winning the presidential race in November, especially given voters regard the economy as the most critical issue confronting the country.

However, the economy itself is rapidly improving. Inflation is down, GDP is strong, the stock market is soaring, and, if investors are correct, the Federal Reserve will slash interest rates by a percentage point before voters go to the polls, lowering mortgage costs. Despite Mr Biden’s low support ratings for economic management, may the state of the American economy help him win re-election?

Three insights arise from research that examine the link between economic fortunes and election outcomes. The first two are terrible news for Mr. Biden: voters dislike inflation and have strong opinions about the economy. Ten months before the election, Mr. Biden has presided over a 14.4% increase in prices, as measured by the personal-consumption-expenditure index—more than at any other stage in a presidential tenure since 1984. Despite the disruption caused by the covid-19 outbreak, the stain of inflation appears to wipe out today’s solid labor market and real wage growth, which has been consistent with the late 2010s trend.

Biden's chances for reelection are greater than they appear.. - The Hard News Daily
image: The Economist

The third lesson is much better for Mr. Biden: voters have short memories.”The clear consensus in the literature is that recent economic performance is much more relevant at election time than earlier performance,” wrote Christopher Achen and Larry Bartels, two political scientists, in their book “Democracy for Realists”. Americans, according to them, “vote on the basis of how they feel at the moment” and they “forget or ignore how they have felt over the course of the incumbent’s term in office” . The authors demonstrate that rises in real disposable income per person in just the two quarters preceding a vote can, with an adjustment for tenure in the White House, predict the vote share of America’s ruling parties with remarkable accuracy (see chart).

It’s a crucial result, especially since inflation has just plummeted. Prices grew 2% annually in the second half of 2023, down from a peak of 7.7% in the first half of 2022. Even if the hot economy boosts inflation, it is unlikely to reach the previous peak, especially given futures markets predict that oil prices—and thus the cost of filling up a car—will remain level in 2024. Because inflation has declined without a recession, tight labour markets have resulted in robust real wage growth. In the fourth quarter of 2023, real disposable income per person increased at an annualized rate of 1.9%. If sustained until the election, that pace would result in a victory margin similar to Bill Clinton’s in 1996. “Recent widespread pessimism about Biden’s prospects seems to me excessive,” said Mr. Achen. “The economy appears likely to help [him].”

Don’t blame me

The influence of inflation right before elections is less researched than that of growth. America does not have many examples of high inflation to draw on. However, economists have long suspected that governments in emerging nations try to win votes by temporarily restraining price increases ahead of elections. A typical example is Brazil in 1986, when the government introduced price and wage restrictions and fixed the currency rate in February, reducing monthly inflation from 22% to less than 1%. Only six days after winning parliamentary elections in November, the administration was forced to reject the plan due to massive economic imbalances. By the middle of 1987, annual inflation had surpassed 1,000 percent. These “stop-go” policies would fail unless voters rewarded governments for bringing inflation under control.

Are comparable analogies applicable in America, where the inflation problem is more original but far less severe? Ray Fair’s calculations at Yale University imply that things may be more complicated. He discovers that a model that includes inflation over the incumbent party’s whole tenure is the strongest predictor of presidential elections, even when recent economic development is given special consideration. The memory of inflation as painful would explain why the traditional relationship between consumer confidence and the economy failed in 2023, with survey respondents remaining pessimistic despite robust growth and decreasing inflation.

However, there are indicators that Americans are becoming more optimistic about their economic situation. Consumer confidence, as assessed by the University of Michigan, increased significantly in December and preliminary data for January, reaching its highest level since July 2021 (a conclusive reading will be announced shortly after this column is published). Such better sentiment is consistent with the findings of Ryan Cummings and Neale Mahoney, two former Biden administration economists now at Stanford University, whose model permits the psychological impact of inflation to fade gradually over time. They forecast that if inflation in 2024 is 2.5%, consumer mood will be 50% lower by the end of the year and 70% worse than it was in mid-2022. Such an influence would almost certainly flow over into Mr Biden’s polling numbers.

Even Mr Fair’s model, which weighs both high inflation in 2022 and low inflation in 2024, forecasts that economic growth will lead Mr Biden to victory in the popular vote. There is no certainty that the economic estimates that underpin such models are correct. Indeed, since the covid outbreak, they have frequently been inaccurate. The electoral college is biased towards Republicans; Mr Trump triumphed in 2016 despite losing the popular vote. And Mr. Biden is starting from a low point, not simply in terms of his economic standing. However, as the president works to close the polling deficit, the economy should give him with a boost.

Chicago school board voted to remove uniformed police officers from schools.

The Chicago Board of Education voted on Thursday to end its contract with Chicago police and remove uniformed officers from the city’s schools.

The vote came at the end of a nearly eight-hour school board meeting in which teachers, students and elected city officials spoke.

The battle on whether to keep the uniformed police officers in the 39 city schools where they continue to patrol, out of 634 schools, has been going on since police were assigned to protect the schools in 1991.

Some students told school board members that police in the schools scare them.

Supporters of removing police from schools said the officers targeted minorities and did not make schools safer.

Instead, the same supporters suggested the money spent on police patrols could be better spent.

Opponents of removing police from schools claim the officers made the schools safer, telling board members it should be up to the individual schools to decide whether to have uniformed police on the premises.

FOX 32 in Chicago reported that when the board cast their votes, it was in favor of a new “Whole School Safety Policy,” which eliminates the use of school resource officers.

The official plan will be presented to board members for final approval over the summer, and if approved, it goes into effect next school year.

“We want to be clear that many schools will still employ physical safety personnel like security guards at points of entry, and crossing guards and Safe Passage workers to ensure students can get to and from school safely,” the board said in the letter obtained by the station. “Some schools will also continue to use physical security tools such as security cameras or metal detectors. Furthermore, each school will still maintain a relationship with their local Chicago Police Department ‘School Sergeant,’ a position assigned to each police district to provide safety support to schools.”

The board also reportedly said in the letter the funding used for uniformed officers in schools will be reallocated for “alternative safety positions, resources, and interventions,” like restorative justice coordinators, youth intervention specialists, wrap-around supports and mentoring programs, and more.

Earlier in January, the Chicago Board of Education was reportedly seeking to strip Local School Councils, organizations made up of parents, teachers, and students, of their power to choose whether to have SROs at their schools. After taking the decision away from local councils, the board will remove all officers from school grounds, according to local outlet WBEZ.

Alderman Nicholas Sposato had reportedly already been told that CPS would not opt out of renewing its contract with the Chicago Police Department.

The Illinois Policy Institute, a think tank that tracks policy decisions in the state, said, “Local School Councils already have the power to remove officers, but district leaders are taking away that local control.”

The Chicago Teachers Union, (CTU) advocated for police officers to be removed from schools in 2020, amid the George Floyd protests.

“These students along with the parents, teachers and staff that support them have looked at the data, experienced the brutality and are calling for police-free schools,” the CTU said in a statement in June 2020.

Some schools opted to remove officers from their premises in 2020. William Taft Howard High School was among the few that voted to keep them.

William Howard Taft High School is one of 151 high schools in CPS and serves over 4,000 students. CPS presides over 646 schools and 300,000 students.
