Trump has gained huge momentum in the race to capture the Republican nomination.

Washington:

Donald Trump advanced in his bid to secure the Republican Party’s presidential nomination by winning internal party contests in Missouri, Michigan, and Idaho, according to US media reports.

The ex-president has emerged victorious in all state nomination contests leading up to the upcoming “Super Tuesday,” during which voters in 15 US states will select their favored candidate for each party.

Trump has significantly increased his chances of winning the Republican nominee at the party convention in July, and Tuesday’s events are likely to solidify this outcome.

He is expected to compete against President Joe Biden in the next November elections, marking their second encounter since 2020.

The elections held on Saturday in Missouri, Michigan, and Idaho were a combination of internal processes with varying regulations, which at times highlighted divisions and conflicts despite Trump’s significant influence.

According to The New York Times, Trump decisively defeated his primary opponent, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, by winning every county caucus in Missouri.

Those who declared their loyalty to the Missouri Republican Party were eligible to participate in the county caucuses.

According to CNN, almost 2,000 party activists in Michigan participated in a caucus convention where Trump secured all 39 available delegates.

The restricted vote followed turmoil inside the state party, which involved accusations of excessive expenditure and mismanagement.

Trump secured 16 Michigan delegates during a small-scale primary election earlier in the week.

The ex-president easily secured victory in the Republican caucuses in Idaho, as reported by NBC and ABC.

Haley has traveled extensively across the country before Super Tuesday, attempting to provide a challenging argument against the certainty of Trump’s candidacy.
