When Donald Trump announced that he was going to run for presidency in the US Elections 2024, it was no surprise. He had already told his intentions about running for presidency in his previous talks.
The number of cases in which he was appearing in courts also told a story that he would soon be vengeful and try to make a comeback.
Being president is an easy to get out of the legal problems.
But constant legal battles Trump was fighting also reeked of political revenge from the Democrats, and Trump took the sympathy for it.
Few months back, for US Elections 2024, it was going to be Trump Versus Biden.
Biden was keen to run for presidency again in the US Elections 2024 but his videos where he appeared clueless in official events proved to be an embarrassment for the entire country.
US president job is, if not, is the most powerful post in the world and the one who becomes the US president symbolically becomes the most powerful man on this planet.
For a US president to appear weak is a kind of oxymoron.
No one desired Biden to make a comeback. But then no one saw what was coming next.
Kamala Harris was announced as a US president nominee from the side of democrats.
Harris didn’t appear to do much during her tenure as Vice president except give occasional bizarre speeches, cut out clips of which are available all over internet, and was not on anyone’s mind to become the next nominee for the US President in the US Elections 2024.
But she was the best candidate for American liberals. Brown color female and a strong woman who had previously held a high post. She is a complete embodiment of the changes happening in the country.
Trump on the other hand is known to be bizarre in his statements too and quite state forward. He wouldn’t hesitate saying his mind and putting his beliefs on table.
The powerful people of US get divided among the two and comfortably so. Media seems to be Pro Harris while Most businessmen seems to be Pro Trump. One has the power to change perception while other has money.
The US Elections 2024 will be an interesting battle between the two to look out for.
But that is what politics is all about. Isn’t it?
Everything that Harris stands for, Trump is against. And everything Trump stands for, Harris is against by default.
Both of them, however, lacks the grace of being the kind of US president that people of US has seen after world war till internet boom.
Sometimes it appears that internet has made even the US President’s lives too transparent. Earlier it was only the information which was controlled by Government which would reach the people and they made the iconic hero of their Presidents.
Trump and Harris cannot lie much about anything today. Their entire history and old interviews are lying on internet. Everything can be traced back.
That is why they are talking mostly about what is going to happen rather than what has happened.
Most of the topics covering these US Elections 2024 are not even something which actually concern the citizens but are trending topics anyways.
LGBTQ++ is one such topic this US Elections 2024. Then comes immigration. After that comes economy, quality among people, foreign policy, gun policy and lastly, a topic which ubiquitously exists and has been existing in the mind of the US people since Roe vs. Wade , the matter of abortion. It is irrelevant to mention here the climate change and the dangers of democracy.
Climate changes will always be an issue this US Elections 2024 because deep down everyone knows that nothing can be done about it but it is a really great topic to tell people that something can be done about it.
People are not looking for politicians to actually do anything, they just want to know what intentions they have. During elections, the intentions matter more than the actually work.
Coming to second most cliched topic of elections, these days “democracy in danger” has become quite a fancy term which is literally used in every election held across the world.
The people have developed fear of dictatorship since the evil acts of Hitler became known to the world. The fear has been used again and again by the politicians to reap benefits against their opponent’s by claiming if they come to power then they will remove the democracy.
Everyone knows that most countries today have foundations of Constitutional Laws rock solid in first world countries.
International organizations and media taking note of every activity of every country, except China, online. It is quite impossible now for these countries to have a dictatorial kind of government but still, the fear is what makes people do activities and chose whom to vote.
Of all these topics, immigration is the most discussed one in news channels these days. Recently the countries has suddenly started fighting with each other and these are people who are migrating from one place to another, some in search of a better life to live and some seeing it as an opportunity to invade the wealthy country.
Most of the people invading these wealthy countries as immigrants are either from Islamic countries or African countries which are quite poor and the living quality of these countries is quite drenched.
Initially every country opened their doors in the name of globalization to them, but soon they became a menace for them and start owning the country while not following the law of the country which showed pity to them.
That is one side of it, other side is that if the countries won’t give them space then they have nowhere to go because owing to the turmoil in their own countries, they have nowhere to go. It is not quite human act to let them die on no man’s land.
Trump, like most right wing leaders is fighting to remove the illegal immigration from the country, which sounds like a legit thing considering illegal immigrants shouldn’t be allowed in any country while Harris is fighting for giving these illegal immigrants the rights bestowed on Americans and pay them for food and healthcare from the tax payer’s money.
It is between choosing humanity and one’s own country.
However, rich people sitting at comforts of their home doesn’t understand the problems of the middle class who are bearing the brunt of the heavy taxes and the threats which these illegal immigrants poses to them.
Trump is trying to milk such issues and more.
Another hot topic is the LGBTQ++ issues which today is the bread and butter for most political podcasters. Problems related to surgeries and mental health issues in LGBTQ++ communities has also become a major point of talk this US Elections 2024 because their vote matters too. They are sizeable now.
Everything was going right for Trump in the US Elections 2024 till the debate happened and if we truly believe most of the users on internet and news channels, it was a one way victory of Kamala Harris as Trump was too over confident this time.
Harris knew beforehand the strategies of Trump as she has already seen him debating Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden and she knew the manner in which Trump argues and replies in the debate.
In short one can say, Trump was way too predictable in the debate and should Harris took advantage of that.
Now the polls are claiming that Harris has an edge over Trump and people have already seem to forgotten that Trump was attacked by a sniper few weeks back.
The sympathy wave is gone.
However, the elections are always an interesting event to cover.
The US Elections 2024 seemed to be one sided once but now as we see Kamala Harris fighting back, makes it more interesting to see how the future events hold itself in the next two months.
