WPL 2024: Ellyse Perry Thrilled for Final as RCB Edges Out MI in Tense Clash

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by five runs in Friday’s thrilling match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Ellyse Perry, who was instrumental in the match, is looking forward to playing Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League 2024 final.

Thanks to their win, RCB will face Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League final on Sunday. Due to their unwavering determination throughout the 136-run chase, RCB played one of their greatest games of the season.

Perry, who won Player of the Match for her incredible 66-run innings, expressed her excitement at the prospect of representing her club in the WPL 2024 championship and praised their ability to hold opponents to a low total.

MI was chasing 135/6 to secure a berth in their second consecutive final. They needed 43 off 30 overs, but that changed to 20 off 18 before they inexplicably lost the match and the narrative by five runs, with only 14 runs for three wickets coming from the final three overs.

We are overjoyed to have the chance to compete in the final. It is amazing to defend a low total like that. The girls maintained their composure, and the spinners’ final performance was very amazing. You must seize the chance when it presents itself. It’s been nice for me the past few games; everything have gone my way,” Ellyse Perry said to the commentators.

Perry added that she could not see the WPL 2024 championship game, but she did commend the team’s solidarity and fortitude in the face of a formidable foe.

It’s amazing how composed we were in the face of such positive reinforcement. We have truly loved each other’s company both on and off the field, especially with the way the girls have come together since the previous season. All things considered, we persevered, and the girls continued to contribute. I believe the proverbruns on the board in a big game holds true” applied tonight as well. Excited for the final,” Perry continued.
