From ₹10 Lakh on Day One to a Box Office Miracle
It is now the 38th day of the Hanuman Ansh movie at the box office, and the film is doing wonders for Indian cinema.
People are praising the film right, left, and center. There are more than 1,200 shows running all across the country.
As of Day 38, the film is running across 1,259 shows, according to the latest live data from Sacnilk.
On the first day of the film, it earned something around ₹10 lakh with an occupancy of only 10%, with only 355 shows showing all across the country.
As time grew, it reached a level where, on Day 14, it collected only ₹5 lakh with only 63 shows showing. The interesting thing to note here is that the occupancy at this time was also 37%.
What Happened on Day 15?
Then something happened on Day 15, the next Friday, the week 3 Friday.
The amount grew from ₹5 lakh to ₹15 lakh again. The shows were increased to 133, and the occupancy was 31%. Then, on Day 16, something more happened.
The film collected nearly ₹85 lakh. The shows were increased to 264, and the occupancy was 63%.
The Film Kept Growing
Then the film kept on growing. It kept on growing till it reached, on Day 21, ₹2.1 crore, with shows now increased to 1,294 and 50% occupancy.
The film kept on growing so much that, on the 24th day, it earned nearly ₹12.75 crore, and the shows were increased to 5,363, with occupancy at 55%.
The show went on to create history by collecting ₹22.75 crore on Day 31, with 73% occupancy and 7,077 shows showing all across India. This was the film’s highest single-day collection at that point.
The Craze Refuses to Die
The growth kept on happening, and the new movies kept on releasing, but the craze for this film is refusing to die. There is something about this film that people say is spiritually aligned.
The film is about Neem Karoli Baba, a saint who was born in Akbarpur, Uttar Pradesh, and whose spiritual legacy is closely associated with Kainchi Dham near Nainital in Uttarakhand. Kainchi Dham was established by Neem Karoli Baba in 1964 and has since become an important pilgrimage destination for his devotees.
It is speculated that there will be huge amounts of traffic now all across the place because his name has been known now worldwide.
Neem Karoli Baba and Kainchi Dham
It is also known that Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg have been associated with Kainchi Dham and Neem Karoli Baba. Steve Jobs travelled to India in the 1970s intending to meet Neem Karoli Baba, but Baba had already passed away before Jobs arrived. Mark Zuckerberg later visited Kainchi Dham and has spoken about the influence of Steve Jobs’ recommendation during a difficult period at Facebook.
Julia Roberts has also spoken publicly about Neem Karoli Baba and has described his image as an influence on her spiritual journey. However, I would not say that she came to Kainchi Dham unless you have a specific source establishing that visit.
Indian people believe that this miracle box office breakout for this film, Hanuman Ansh, happened because of the blessings of Neem Karoli Baba. Otherwise, a film with no major lead actors, with very amateurish filmmaking techniques used and a very student-type look and feel of the film (something that would rather be on television than in movie theaters) is working wonders at the box office of Indian cinema.
A Lesson for Aspiring Filmmakers
This is a lesson to be learned by other people all across India who are desiring to make a film and realize that if they decide something with a pure heart, then there is no stopping them. They might face defeat at the beginning, but at the end, if they are true to themselves, the victory will be theirs.
