In an incident in Kerala, the god’s own country, where the vessels of secularism in India have been making rounds for over a century, has seen something which is not so secular.
During an event of Onam, a man dressed as Mahabali was performing his Hindu traditions when a shopkeeper named Ashraf poured hot oil on him.
A police report was filed, and the police came. After a mediation between the two parties, the matter was finally settled after the man who was dressed up as Mahabali, named Chandra Babu, decided to forgive Ashraf after the police mediated between them.
